About the role
This contract position will see you leading the end‑to‑end automation workstream — from approach and tool selection through to implementation, execution, and operational handover.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop the test automation strategy and approach
- Define technical and functional requirements for automation tools
- Conduct market analysis and evaluate suitable automation toolsets
- Lead a product selection and procurement process
- Execute the automated test suite in the programme’s test environment
- Complete a full knowledge transfer and handover to operations
You’ll bring significant experience and confidence in delivering automation solutions within complex technical environments.
We’re looking for someone with:
- 5–10 years' hands‑on experience in test automation
- Strong background in technical/interface testing
- Proven experience selecting, implementing, and embedding test automation tools
- Experience working with SaaS or hosted service platforms
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps automation tooling (advantageous)
- Experience in transport or ticketing environments (nice to have)
