We are seeking a Senior Information Management Advisor to bring structure, clarity and sustainability to how governance, operational and knowledge artefacts are managed, accessed and maintained. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on turning fragmented information into a coherent, enduring foundation that supports delivery long after transition.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll provide senior information management capability across a complex, multi‑stakeholder environment, with a focus on BAU readiness and operational resilience.
Key responsibilities include:
Rationalisation & Structure
- Identifying and cataloguing governance, operational and knowledge artefacts across systems and teams
- Recommending a clear, fit‑for‑purpose information structure for approval
- Supporting the decommissioning of outdated or redundant artefacts
- Establishing clear document ownership, version control and access conventions
- Defining ongoing ownership and maintenance rules suitable for BAU operations
- Designing an information management framework that supports transition, BAU and ongoing enhancements
- Ensuring information practices reduce operational risk and support continuity
- Reducing reliance on individual knowledge holders by consolidating SOPs, Process maps, Knowledge guides
- Creating an authoritative single source of truth for operational use
- Supporting governance and management backlog reduction by clearly documenting decisions, actions and dependencies
- Working closely with digital, operational, change, risk and privacy specialists
- Ensuring consistency across information, risk, assurance and privacy artefacts
- Preparing BAU‑ready information structures, guidance and handover documentation to support smooth transition.
You’re a senior information or knowledge management professional who brings both structure and pragmatism.
You’ll likely have:
- Strong experience in information management, records, knowledge or governance roles
- Exposure to complex, regulated or multi‑agency environments
- Proven ability to rationalise distributed or inconsistent information landscapes
- Confidence working across business, operational, digital and change teams
- A practical mindset — focused on usability, sustainability and risk reduction
- Work on a nationally significant system
- Play a key role in shaping how information is used in BAU, not just during delivery
