Mike is a senior executive with over 17 years in senior Human Resources roles, advising Boards and Senior Management teams on the full range of People Management skills and processes and running complex people management projects. 

He has worked in South Africa, Hong Kong and New Zealand primarily in the Business Services, Scientific Research and Health sectors.  His qualifications include MA Econ Cantab (Cambridge University, UK); Diploma in Accounting (University of Natal Durban); CA (SA).

Since 1990 Mike has held senior management roles, significantly responsible for introducing new systems and procedures, along with the necessary manuals and people changes – both in New Zealand and Hong Kong.  He has managed a number of restructuring projects for clients around the country and regularly advises management on suitable structures to facilitate their preferred workforce development.

His roles have included HR Manager roles at both a Crown Research Institute and a Crown Health Enterprise (forerunners of the DHBs).  For the last 3 ½ years he has been advising clients as a consultant, incorporating numerous small organisations as well as continuing to advise the Science and Health sectors.

Most likely to say …Where and when do you need it?

When not at work … Mike is primarily a family man, supporting his wife’s quilting; his sons’ football and walking their dogs.  He attends Avonhead Baptist Church, Christchurch.  He is an Advanced Toastmaster of many years’ standing and he sings!
