Ian Sharp
Senior Consultant
Ian is a Senior Starfish Consultant who has spent the past 10 years, the work Ian has concentrated on is analysis and mapping of new business processes and the re-evaluation and examination of existing business processes. A majority of projects during this period have been for the Local Government Sector and Government Departments.
Most recently, he was engaged with the Society of Local Government Managers on the New Zealand Local Government Good Practice Toolkit project, where he was responsible for the identification, capture and mapping of good practice business processes for Council operations and activities. This was in order to align processes for all New Zealand Councils, Audit New Zealand and Riskpool with current legislative requirements, on wide-ranging requirements applying to Health and Safety, Dog Control, Liquor Licensing and Tendering and Procurement, among others. To achieve this in the time required, Ian was required to document, analyse and map processes while identifying inefficiencies and design and deliver User training packages, while maintaining budget control and contract documentation.
Prior to that, Ian was engaged at the Department of Building and Housing where he worked with a team to develop, map, agree and publish new business processes to coincide with the Building Act which was introduced in March 2010.
This involved coordinating input from external stakeholders and facilitating and coordinating the Development Team in order to develop all project strategies, methodologies, programmes and deliverables.
Ian has extensive experience in business process analysis, work-shopping and process mapping. His analytical, structured and simple approach adds clarity and value to business process analysis and mapping outcomes.
