Andy has extensive experience and a successful track record of working with public and private sector organisations in both New Zealand and overseas.  He has held many senior roles including positions as Programme, Project and Consulting Manager. Andy is a valued member of the Starfish team, and has successfully completed a number of assignments for Starfish.

Andy strong communication skills, and with a technical and business background he is skilled at managing and meeting the requirements of stakeholders.

Andy has worked with the Prince2 methodology on a number of projects for Government organisations including the Ministry of Health and the New Zealand Qualifications Authority.

Andy brings extensive managing the design and implementation of technical solutions, often in conjunction with a close relationship with the vendor and the Programme Team.  During these projects Andy has also been responsible for managing technical teams.

He is highly experienced managing Software Projects, most recently at NZQA where he was responsible for the application improvement projects. 

His wide experience enables him to operate effectively in many areas, from strategy development and implementation, organisation and cultural change, business process improvement, application selection, project and programme management through to review and turnaround of projects.

The key to his success as a consultant is his business outcome focus and a strong grasp on what will and can be made to work in a client’s environment. Wherever possible, he considers the “big picture” first and then identifies the strategic and tactical initiatives that will achieve the assignment and business goals. 

Effective communication is Andy’s strength, as is a belief in a participative style of engagement to ensure involvement and ownership by client staff and management.  Andy’s main focus is on delivering business outcomes, so that whatever is accomplished has a direct bearing on one or all of revenue generation, cost reduction and business risk.
